Godolphin (flat)
Nationality: Dubaian Trainer: Saeed bin Suroor Regular Jockey: Frankie Dettori

Racing background
- Godolphin was set up by Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum (the ruler of Dubai) as a global breeding and horseracing operation.
- His family has had a keen interest in racing since the late 1970s.
- Godolphin horses are trained in Dubai during the winter, with Newmarket being their headquarters during the British Flat Turf season.
- The horses selected to represent Godolphin in Europe are flown over from the Middle East in spring and will travel back by aeroplane in the autumn, to take advantage of Dubai’s pleasant climate during Britain’s winter months.
- Godolphin’s first winner was Cutwater, who won the Hooyer Stakes at Nad Al Sheba racecourse in Dubai in 1992.
- The Godolphin team have had phenomenal success around the world and won their 100th Group 1 race with Sulamani in the Arlington Million in Chicago, on 16 August 2003.
- Godolphin has won Group 1 races in eleven countries – Canada, Dubai, England, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and America.
- Another of their great feats was Dubai Millennium’s win in the 2000 Dubai World Cup, when he beat an international field by six lengths.
- Despite having had so many top class horses running in the famous blue colours of Godolphin, the team feels that one horse continues to stand out above the rest – Dubai Millennium, who won nine out of his ten races.
- The list of Godolphin's successes over the years is far too long to summarise. They regularly churn out at least 5 or 6 Group 1 winners every year and own many of the top flat horses around.
- Godolphin have been Champion owners 3 times in the last 5 years (2007, 2006 and 2004) and are always in the select group of most succssful owners every season
