The Stewards wished to enquire into possible interference involving the winner, TAAJUB (IRE), ridden by Ian Mongan, and BILLY RED, unplaced, ridden by Fergus Sweeney, at approximately the furlong marker. The trainer’s attention was drawn to the restriction incurred under Rule (B)44 and informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test. This being the second occasion within the previous 12 months that CELTIC CHARLIE (FR) had been reported, the Stewards informed the trainer that if the gelding were reported for a third time within the same period, CELTIC CHARLIE (FR) would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.

The Stewards held an enquiry into the running and riding of FROCK (IRE), ridden by Jamie Mackay and trained by Sylvester Kirk, which finished fifth, beaten 5 ½ lengths. They interviewed the rider and Andy Lucas, representing the trainer. They also received a report from the Veterinary Officer, who confirmed that the filly was normal post-race. The rider stated that his instructions were to drop FROCK (IRE) in, as she has been struggling to finish in her previous races, and to finish as close as possible. He added that FROCK (IRE) ran past beaten horses in the closing stages. The representative confirmed the instructions and stated that he was satisfied with the ride his jockey had given the filly. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race the Stewards noted their explanations.
