The Stewards noted that FATHER PROBUS, placed third, had interfered with TEENAGE KICKS (IRE), placed fourth, approaching the final flight, but after viewing a recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved FATHER PROBUS’s placing.

The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Andrew Glassonbury, the rider of READY OR NOT(IRE), placed second, after the last fence. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found him in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip without giving his horse time to respond. The Stewards suspended Glassonbury for 2 days as follows: Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 March 2012.

The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, MYLORD COLLONGES (FR), ridden by Conor O’Farrell, and trained by Susan Nock, compared with its previous run at Warwick on 26 January where the gelding finished fourth beaten 69 lengths in a two and a half mile Handicap Chase on good to soft ground. They noted the trainer’s explanation that the gelding was better suited by the good ground and longer trip. They ordered MYLORD COLLONGES (FR) to be routine tested.

The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, TRADITIONAL BOB (IRE), ridden by Tom Molloy, and trained by Graeme McPherson, which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer who stated that the gelding appeared better suited by racing over a shorter trip and was better suited by the good ground. Having heard his evidence they forwarded his explanation to the British Horseracing Authority so that the previous performances of TRADITIONAL BOB (IRE) could be reviewed.
