The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, HEVER ROAD (IRE), ridden by Joe Cornwall and trained by David Pearson, compared with its previous run at Towcester on 15 March, where the gelding was pulled up. They noted the trainer’s explanation that HEVER ROAD (IRE) was able to dominate in this race, whereas he had been unable to do so at Towcester. They ordered the gelding to be routine tested.
The Stewards noted that FIGHTING CHANCE (IRE), placed second, ridden by Richard Johnson and trained by Richard Lee, failed to enter the winner’s enclosure, but having received a report from the Veterinary Officer they took no further action.

The record of vaccinations in the passport of SON OF KARINGA, owned by S.G. Allen, did not comply with the Rules of Racing. The Stewards found the owner in breach of Rule (E)18 and fined him £ 140.
M.A. Watts, the owner of EMPTY SKY, failed to notify either the Racing Calendar Office or the Clerk of the Scales that the gelding was a non-runner. The Stewards found the owner in breach of Schedule (F)7 and fined him £ 140.
The Stewards held an enquiry to consider the apparent improvement in form of the winner, FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT (IRE), ridden by Robert Thornton and trained by Warren Greatrex, which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer who stated that the gelding was better suited by the good, good to firm ground in this race and by the first time application of blinkers. Having heard his evidence they forwarded his explanation to the British Horseracing Authority so that the previous performances of FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT (IRE) could be reviewed.
The Stewards noted that there was interference between the winner, FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT (IRE), and BRET MAVERICK (IRE), unplaced, after the second last flight of hurdles, but after viewing a recording of the race they were unable to apportion blame.

The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Paul Moloney, the rider of TIGER O’ TOOLE (IRE), placed third, from the final fence. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found him in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he used his whip in the incorrect place. The Stewards suspended Moloney for 2 days as follows: Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 April 2012.
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference turning into the straight. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that FLAMINGO CAY, unplaced, ridden by James Reveley, had interfered with NO DUFFER, placed second, ridden by Andrew Tinkler. They found the interference was accidental.

The Stewards noted that the winner, DELLBUOY, had interfered with EMMAN BEE (IRE), placed second, inside the final furlong but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.
The Starter reported that SUPER FRANK (IRE), trained by Zoe Davison, was the subject of a third criteria failure. The trainer’s attention was drawn to the restriction incurred under Rule (B)44 and informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference inside the final furlong. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that DIAMOND MARKS (IRE), placed third, ridden by John Fahy, had interfered with OCEAN MYTH, unplaced, ridden by Nicky Mackay. The Stewards found Fahy in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he allowed his mount to drift right. They suspended him for 1 day as follows: Wednesday 4 April 2012.
The Starter reported that NYETIMBER (USA), trained by Peter Hiatt, was unruly in the stalls, injured the jockey, and was withdrawn. The trainer’s attention was drawn to the restriction incurred under Rule (B)44 and informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
The Stewards held an enquiry into possible interference at the furlong marker. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that DELLS BREEZER, unplaced, ridden by Jemma Marshall, had interfered with PHAROH JAKE, also unplaced, ridden by Kieran O’Neill. The Stewards found Marshall in breach of Rule (B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that she allowed her mount to drift right. They suspended her for 2 days as follows: Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 April 2012.
