Training for potential Racehorse Trainers
Those wishing to apply to The Jockey Club for a Licence to Train must attend three one-week modules held at the British Racing School. Those wishing to be granted a Permit to Train must attend Module 1. The three modules are:
- Racehorse Management (achievement of NVQ Level 3 in Racehorse Care and Management prior to attendance on this module is compulsory).
- Business Skills for Racehorse Trainers.
- Staff Management.
The Jockey Club Licensing Committee may, in exceptional circumstances, grant exemptions from Modules 2 and 3 to those who can prove substantial experience and/or qualifications in the relevant areas.
Module 1 is run three times a year and Modules 2 and 3 twice a year. For details, dates and application forms please contact the British Racing School.
