THE JUDDMONTE CORONATION CUP
| 2003 and 2004 winner Warrsan |
First run in 1902 to mark the coronation of Edward VII, the Coronation Cup has tended to attract small but high-class fields.
Three of the most famous fillies won the race twice: Pretty Polly (1905-06), Petite Etoile (1960-61) and Triptych (1987-88).
Nine Derby winners have won the Coronation Cup a year after their three-year-old success including Royal Palace (1968), the legendary Mill Reef (1972) and Roberto (1973).
Recent winners include Swain (1996), Singspiel (1997), Daylami (1999) and Warrsan (2003, 2004).
