Race Day game
Jobs for the Race Day
You will have two jobs in the run up to the Race Day game: you will be a racehorse owner and also the person managing the racecourse. In the real world of horseracing, horse owners take many months to select a horse, and trainers take many months to train it: trainers need a lot of time to ensure that the horse is in perfect condition for racing. The people who manage racecourses also have to make decisions long before race days. Their decisions will have an impact on whether race days make a profit or a loss.
It is up to you to ensure that you have made all the relevant decisions and have everything in order before the big Race Day game.
Racecourse manager
Get startedYou have a budget of £2 million, and you will need to make a series of high-level business decisions to get the racecourse ready for the Race Day game.
The most successful racecourses will earn the most money, and you will see at the end of your Race Day game how successful you have been. Hopefully, you won’t have made a loss, and it would be fantastic if your hard work and good business decisions were rewarded with a profit.
Racehorse owner
Get startedAs a racehorse owner, you will need to plan carefully to ensure your racehorse is fully prepared for the forthcoming Race Day game. This will require you to make important choices about which racehorse you select and how it is trained and cared for. You’ll want your racehorse to be a winner and to bring fame and fortune to your stables, but above all you want your racehorse to be happy and healthy.
