• Racing Together supporting national volunteering event ‘Give & Gain Day’ on Friday 20 May 2016

• Run by ‘Business in the Community’, it is the only global day of employee volunteering.

• Now in its ninth year, it will see thousands of people from hundreds of companies volunteering on 20 May 2016.

Racing Together, British Racing’s collective banner for community engagement, is once again working on behalf of the British Racing industry to participate in Give & Gain Day 2016, Britain’s only nationally organised day of volunteering.

Give & Gain Day is a great example of how the Power of Racing is being utilised to great effect to connect with people in ways that other businesses cannot.
Run by Business in the Community (BITC), a business-led, issue-focused charity with more than 30 years’ experience of mobilising business, Give & Gain Day is a celebration of the incredible power of employee volunteering. It provides business across Britain with an opportunity to engage with their community and build lasting relationships with those that share the communities in which they operate.

Give & Gain Day was officially launched on the BITC website on the 18 January 2016 and via social media twitter @BITC.

Sean O’Connor, Racing Together commented “Last year British Racing got behind and fully embraced Give & Gain Day. We are totally committed to Community Engagement and proud to be associated with these great initiatives using the power of racing to give back to our communities.

“The racing industry up and down Great Britain donated up to 300 hours to Give & Gain Day in 2015 supporting great causes across communities. The wide range of activities that encompassed Give & Gain day last year included providing support to local school children in the development of numeracy and literacy skills using a Racing theme, working on specific projects to help improve the lives of people in our communities and hosting charity events at racecourses.

“We received so many warm messages from people expressing heartfelt gratitude to those that took part from within the world of British Racing.

“We are very excited to be part of this year’s programme and will be encouraging an even greater participation from all corners of the racing industry”.
