Having heard his evidence they forwarded his explanation to the British Horseracing Authority so that the previous performances of NORTHERN TERRITORY (IRE) could be reviewed.
The Stewards noted that SHREDDING (IRE), unplaced, had interfered with VEXILLUM (IRE), placed second, just after the three furlong marker, but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.
The Stewards held an enquiry after NEGOTIATION (IRE), ridden by Franny Norton, was reluctant to race. They interviewed the rider and the representative of Mr M Quinn, the trainer. Having heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the start, and noting that the gelding had also refused to race at Brighton on 20 October 2011, the Stewards referred NEGOTIATION (IRE)’s behavior to the British Horseracing Authority.

The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, ALONG CAME ROSIE, ridden by Dougie Costello and trained by Andrew Crook, compared with its previous run at Kelso on 2 April where the mare finished unplaced, beaten approximately 47 lengths. They ordered ALONG CAME ROSIE to be routine tested.
