Note: Prior to 3rd April 2006, the Jockey Club was the regulator of racing, and prior to July 2007 the Horseracing Regulatory Authority performed the same function.

The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Mr M G Nolan, the rider of the winner, ELEAZAR (GER), from the third last fence. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found him in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he used his whip above the permitted level. The Stewards suspended Mr Nolan for 2 days as follows: Wednesday 23 and Sunday 27 May 2012.
The Stewards held an enquiry to consider the apparent improvement in form of the winner, ROYAL CURTSY, ridden by Gary Rutherford and trained by Stuart Coltherd, which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer who could offer no explanation. Having heard his evidence they forwarded his comment to the British Horseracing Authority so that the previous performances of ROYAL CURTSY could be reviewed.

The Stewards held an enquiry following a report from the Veterinary Officer that PEARL NOIR, trained by Scott Dixon, had been vaccinated for equine influenza within 7 days of the race and therefore could not run. Having heard his evidence they found him in breach of Rule (E)18.6 and fined him £290.
The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Barry McHugh, the rider of LAKEMAN (IRE), placed second, from approximately two furlongs out. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found him in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip above the permitted level. The Stewards suspended McHugh for 2 days as follows: Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 May 2012.
The Starter reported that CHEERS BUDDY (IRE), trained by Tony Coyle, was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn. The trainer’s attention was drawn to the restriction incurred under Rule (B)44 and informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.

The Stewards noted that the winner, DREAM VALE (IRE), had interfered with UNTIL IT SLEEPS, unplaced, shortly after the start, but after viewing a recording of the incident they were satisfied that it neither involved a riding offence nor improved DREAM VALE (IRE)’s placing.
The Stewards noted that EIJAAZ (IRE), placed second, had interfered with the winner, FLYING APPLAUSE, shortly before the line, but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.
The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by I Poullis, the rider of LEVITATE, placed second, approaching the final two furlongs. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found him in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip above the permitted level. The Stewards suspended Poullis for 2 days as follows: Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 May 2012.
The Stewards noted that NO MEAN TRICK (USA), unplaced, had interfered with INGENTI, unplaced, approximately one and a half furlongs out, but after viewing a recording of the race they were satisfied that it did not involve a riding offence.

The Stewards held an enquiry into the use of the whip by Mr. I Chanin, the rider of the winner, KIRKLEIGH, from the third last fence. Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found him in breach of Schedule (B)6 Part 2 in that he had used his whip above the permitted level. The Stewards suspended Mr Chanin for 7 days as follows: Wednesday 23, Sunday 27, Tuesday 29, Wednesday 30, Thursday 31 May, Friday 1 and Monday 4 June 2012.
