Work Permits and Immigration
In November 2008, the Government introduced a new Points Based System (PBS) as a means for managing migration of overseas workers in simpler and more straightforward manner. Horseracing along with other sports will be affected by this change.

Sporting and Creative
Under the Sporting and Creative category, sporting governing bodies have a greater role in endorsing employers and their subsequent migrant workers. As an employer in Horseracing this will affect you if you want to bring in a trainer, jockey or a sports team.
As an employer, if you wish to bring in a migrant worker from a Non EU/EEA country you will need to get an endorsement to be a sponsor from the British Horseracing Authority before applying to the UK Borders Agency. You will also need to gain a similar endorsement for each migrant worker.
In order to gain these endorsements you will need to meet a defined set of requirements.
