TICKETS FOR TROOPS
Britain's racecourses pledge over 30,000 of free entry tickets to our soldiers, sailors and airmen in recognition of the brave and tireless efforts of our Armed Forces

The British Horseracing Authority has teamed up with Tickets For Troops (T4T) to offer servicemen and women thousands of free tickets to a number of racecourses across Britain.

Tickets for Troops 56 courses are participating in the initiative, which aims to support the work of serving military personnel and veterans by offering free tickets to big events.

Some courses, such as Carlisle, Musselburgh and Ffos Las, have pledged unlimited tickets to all 2010 fixtures, while others such as Wolverhampton, Lingfield, Ayr and Southwell have donated tickets into their thousands.

As every racecourse across Britain offers FREE entry to children aged 16 and under at nearly all fixtures, this generous offer means that Troops could enjoy a day at the races with their family at absolutely no cost.

In recognition of the extraordinary work of our Armed Forces, Britain's racecourses have included over 800 fixtures within their donation to T4T, including top racedays such as The Ebor Festival at York, The St Leger at Doncaster and The Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter.

With such a good geographical spread of participating racecourses, location need not be an issue with a participating course sure to be close by. Visit our racecourses page to discover your nearest course, while below is a list of courses participating in the initiative.

Tickets for Troops How to claim your tickets
Tickets for Troops is a new and independent not-for-profit organisation. The sole aim of the initiative is to secure the donation of tickets to major sporting and cultural events across the country from the organisers, and to make them available through a dedicated website to all serving members of HM Forces and all those medically discharged from the Forces since the commencement of military action in Afghanistan in 2001.

Applicants simply register at www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk, and can then choose to make their booking from one of thousands of available events. For each booking a donation of just £1 is requested, with all proceeds being donated across various Service charities.

This noble initiative has attracted maximum support from a host of Patrons, including Vera Lynne, Lawrence Dallaglio and James Blunt and thousands of tickets have been made available for top Premier League football matches, rugby games, cricket matches, boxing, athletics meetings, big music acts, tennis tournaments, snooker halls and West End theatres, in addition to horseracing.

Tickets for Troops

In addition to the support shown for Tickets for Troops, racecourses also support a number of additional initiatives, including Value for Valour and Help for Heroes.

Ascot Racecourse and The HPower Group has also recently launched "Horses For Heroes", which will see 2010 horses ridden from Ascot Racecourse, round Windsor Great Park and back to the racecourse before racing begins on Saturday 10th July, 2010. The initiative sets out to bring together horses and riders from across the equine spectrum and aims to raise at least £1 million for the Help the Heroes charity.
