Anyone under the age of 19, under the Rules of Racing, has to study for the Level 2 Diploma in Work Based Racehorse Care and this includes those who want to pursue a career as a jockey. There are two dedicated Racing Schools offering qualifications and training courses for those who want to gain skills to work in the industry – the British Racing School in Newmarket and the National Horseracing College in Doncaster.
