• Steeple chases abandoned
• One existing hurdle race to divide

Due to waterlogged ground on the Steeple Chase course, the Clerk of the Course at Uttoxeter, in conjunction with the BHA’s Racecourse Inspectorate, has abandoned the two Steeple Chase races scheduled for 13 February. In order to safeguard the fixture, the BHA has given permission for one race on the card to divide, regardless of whether the normal criteria for division are met.

A preference for division for the remaining races has now been issued for this fixture. At the declaration stage, if no race is divisible under the provisions of Rule (F)102, the race with the highest number of declarations will be permitted to divide. In the event that two races have identical numbers of declarations, reference to the preferences for division will establish which race should divide. Should further adjudication be necessary, the race with the higher total prize fund will divide.

The going at Uttoxeter is currently heavy, waterlogged in places. An inspection is planned for 8am on Thursday, 11 February.
