APPEAL NOTICES RECEIVED BY BHA

The British Horseracing Authority confirmed today that it has received appeals in relation to a recently concluded Disciplinary Panel enquiry.

Former registered owners Maurice Sines and James Crickmore have submitted appeals following the Disciplinary Panel’s decision to disqualify them from racing for 14 years. In all eleven individuals were disqualified or excluded following the enquiry and appeals have also been lodged by the jockey Kirsty Milczarek and by Nick Gold and Peter Gold.

The BHA will now respond to the appeals. The appeals will be chaired by Sir William Gage. The Chairman will provide an indication as to when the appeals will take place, whether they will be heard together or separately and how long they will expect to take.

The penalties, which still stand in the interim period before appeal, were as follows:

Maurice Sines
Breach of old Rule 201 = 10 years disqualification
Breach of old Rule 247 = 4 years disqualification
Total Penalty = 14 years disqualification

James Crickmore
Breach of old Rule 201 = 10 years disqualification
Breach of old Rule 247 = 4 years disqualification
Total Penalty = 14 years disqualification

Kirsty Milczarek
Breach of old Rule 243 = 2 years disqualification
Breach of old Rule 201 = 2 years disqualification

Total Penalty = 2 years disqualification

Nick Gold
Breach of Rule (A)64 = 7 years exclusion

Peter Gold
Breach of Rule (A)64 = 5 years exclusion
