Speaking regarding the sad passing of Sir Henry Cecil, Paul Roy, Chairman of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), said:

“Sir Henry Cecil’s passing will be felt by everyone in the sport of Horseracing, not just in Britain but across the world. His record as a trainer was one of almost unparalleled achievement, but more than that he generated a level of affection from both Racing’s participants and followers that few others in sport can ever have matched.

“He was an absolute gentleman. He always had time for anyone and everyone and would always ask after your family and your horses before you had the chance to ask him about his.

“British Racing will forever be indebted to him for his contribution to the sport. Our thoughts are with Lady Cecil and all his family at this very sad time.”
