The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today confirmed that the two Steeple Chases scheduled to take place at Taunton’s fixture on Thursday 13 November have been abandoned and replaced by two additional Hurdle races.

With the ground at Taunton currently Firm, Good to Firm (in places), the decision to abandon the Steeple Chases has been made in agreement with the BHA Course Inspectorate to enable Taunton to concentrate all available watering efforts on the Hurdle course, which will give the fixture the best possible chance of going ahead.

Entries for the six-race card will remain as normal, closing at noon on Friday 7 November.
