BHB BOARD REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO RACING’S INTEGRITY

11 Oct 2002 Pre-2014 Releases

At its meeting yesterday, the BHB Board strongly reaffirmed its full commitment to working with the Jockey Club to maintain the highest levels of integrity within British Racing.

The Board recognised that the BBC Panorama programme, while deficient in many areas and unreflective of the ongoing efforts to maintain the sport’s good reputation, had damaged the public image of the sport. The safeguarding and promotion of this image is one of BHB’s principal Aims.

The Board emphasised that it is incumbent upon the whole industry to contribute to upholding the highest integrity standards. It welcomed the prospect of further initiatives to enhance the integrity of the sport, including those from the Jockey Club’s Integrity Review Committee.
