Carlisle back straight races abandoned May 20 and May 23

  • Races from 5 Furlongs to 8 Furlongs to go ahead as planned

Due to the delay in scheduled drainage work to the back straight at Carlisle caused by recent inclement weather, three races have been abandoned and will be replaced by three races from 5 Furlongs to 8 Furlongs.

 

On 20 May, the 11 furlong race has been replaced by an 8 furlong 3-y-o only 56-70 handicap (Class 5), while the 9 furlong Fillies’ Maiden has been replace by the same race type over 8 furlongs.

 

On 23 May, the 17 furlong race has been replaced by a 5 furlong 3-y-o only 61-75 handicap (Class 5).

 

Races for 20 May will close within the normal timeframe at noon on Saturday, May 14, and those for 23 May will close at noon on Tuesday, May 17. New race conditions are available on the BHA’s Racing Admin website, www.racingadmin.co.uk, under “Fixtures and Races”.
