06 Aug 2015 Racing/Fixtures

  • Race alterations 17 and 22 August
  • Work to be completed in time for 3 September fixture

Chelmsford City Racecourse has today cancelled three seven furlong races programmed for 17 and 22 August as the work on the new seven furlong chute will not be completed in time.

The three races programmed over this trip will now take place over six furlongs. The races concerned are as follows:

17 August – 65942 The toteplacepot Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (Class 4)

17 August – 65946 The totepool Handicap Stakes (Class 6)

22 August – 66157 The toteplacepot Nursery Handicap (Class 6)

Entries and declarations deadlines will remain as previously advertised.

Chelmsford City Clerk of the Course, Andy Waitt explained:

“The completion of the 7f chute at Chelmsford City Racecourse has been delayed due to the late delivery of materials for the sub base by one of the main contractors. This has had a knock on effect for the other contractors who were booked to complete the project in time for trials to be undertaken on the 10 August. The revised completion date is for the week ending 21 August for trials to take place prior to entries for 3 September.”
