Lingfield Park May 6 Transferred to All Weather

29 Apr 2016

• Turf Course Heavy with Further Rain Forecast
• New AWT races to close tomorrow

Following recent rain, the turf course at Lingfield Park is heavy and with further showers forecast the Clerk of the Course, in conjunction with the British Horseracing Authority’s Inspectorate and Racing Department, has transferred Friday’s card of May 6 from the turf course to the All Weather Track.

ARC Racing and Property Director, Stephen Higgins, said, “In taking this decision to run Friday’s card on the All Weather we are giving the Betfred Mobile Oaks and Betfred Derby Trial on Saturday the best possible chance of running on the turf. This year, due to the unusually cold and wet conditions during the spring, the turf at Lingfield Park has simply not recovered sufficiently to be able to guarantee a consistent racing surface for both racedays. We are pleased to have been able to work with the BHA so trainers have full knowledge of the race conditions ahead of the entry stage.”

Races for Friday will close within the normal timeframe at noon on Saturday, April 30, with declarations to run to be made by 10am on Wednesday, May 4. Revised race conditions are available on the BHA’s Racing Admin website, www.racingadmin.co.uk, under “Fixtures and Races”.
