PUTTING ON OUR SUNDAY BEST

25 Apr 2000 Pre-2014 Releases

The BH?_x0019_s Sunday Racing Promotion Group (SRPG) today announce new marketing initiatives aimed at capitalising on the good attendances achieved at last yea?_x0019_s Sunday race fixtures, where crowds (adults and children) totalled around a third of a million.

This year sees a huge expansion of the Sunday Racing programme, with 62 Sunday fixtures at 43 courses on 20 ‘racing’ Sundays, 14 of them consecutive. This enables a concentration of marketing effort to promote Sundays to new racegoers and especially families, by focusing on the main leisure day of the week. The first Sunday kicks off in style on 7 May with the first fillies Classic of the year at Newmarket for the Sagitta 1000 Guineas, with racing also at Hamilton Park and Salisbury.

The main focus of the SRPG’s activity is through a leaflet drop to over one million households, backed up by a centralised information service on a local call rate number (0845 0033567) and a web page on the existing BHB Internet site (www.bhb.co.uk) and individual racecourse details.

Ginny Lemarie, chairman of the SRPG and BHB marketing executive said: “I believe that Sunday Racing this year will really prove itself as the day out for the whole family and that the whole industry can benefit from the new audience and existing racegoers.”
