SIMON MAPLETOFT AND MIKE CATTERMOLE TO HOST BHA ‘OVERVIEW OF BRITISH RACING SEMINARS’ IN 2013

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is pleased to announce that Simon Mapletoft and Mike Cattermole will be hosting this year’s Overview of British Racing Seminars, to be held on three separate dates during 2013. The one-day seminars give those that wish to develop a career in racing or expand their knowledge of the sport an overview of the Racing Industry with talks from senior figures from key organisations. Subjects covered include; the role of the BHA and Weatherbys; Racing in the media; the role of racecourses; Breeding and Stud industries; the Rules of Racing; and the Betting industry.

Delegates will learn how the various organisations involved in Racing interact to deliver a compelling and popular sport, as well as having the opportunity to ask questions to some of Racing’s most experienced individuals. The seminars also provide an opportunity to network with other delegates from across the industry.

The dates and venues for this year’s seminars are as follows:

– Wednesday, 1st May – Weatherbys, Wellingborough (Hosted by Simon Mapletoft)
– Thursday, 25th July – Northern Racing College, Doncaster (Hosted by Mike Cattermole)
– Tuesday, 26th November – British Racing School, Newmarket (Hosted by Mike Cattermole)

The seminars also provide a platform for those that wish to gain recognised industry qualifications such as the Level 1 Award in ‘An Introduction to the Horseracing Industry’ and the Level 2 Certificate in ‘The Structure of the Horseracing Industry’.
