The EMHF was founded to coordinate the promotion of Thoroughbred horseracing in the European and Mediterranean region, to bolster its prestige and protect its integrity, and to develop relations between the organisations responsible for running the sport. The EMHF is part of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities.
