The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) can confirm that an additional Flat fixture has been scheduled at Musselburgh Racecourse on Sunday 26 April.

This will be a Sky Bet Sunday Series fixture, replacing the original fixture programmed to take place at Ayr Racecourse.

The Musselburgh fixture will be broadcast on ITV Racing and retains the original race times and overall fixture value of £200,000.

Due to the different track configuration and starts, the updated race programme is as follows:

  • 2yo 5f EBF Restricted Maiden (Band B) – (Formerly 6f Band B) £30,000
  • 3yo+ 1m 1f Fillies Class 5 Handicap – (Formerly 1m 2f Class 5 Fillies’ Handicap) £20,000
  • 4yo+ 1m 4f 110y Class 4 Handicap – (Formerly 6f Class 4 Handicap) £30,000
  • 4yo+ 2m Class 4 Handicap – (Formerly 1m 7f Class 4 Handicap) £30,000
  • 4yo+ 5f Class 4 Handicap (No change) £30,000
  • 4yo+ 7f Class 4 Handicap (No change) £30,000
  • 4yo+ 1m Apprentice Class 4 Handicap (No change) £30,000

The BHA is grateful to Musselburgh Racecourse, Racecourse Media Group and ITV Racing for working together to present a solution which retains the Sunday Series fixture in the programme, as well as sponsors Sky Bet and the Horserace Betting Levy Board for their contributions to prize money.

Sky Bet’s Michael Shinners said:

“We are delighted that the Sunday Series is still going ahead this weekend. Sky Bet would like to thank everyone who has worked so quickly to make this happen. We would particularly like to thank Bill Farnsworth and his team at Musselburgh for being so proactive in making this happen”.
