BHA PUBLISHES BRITISH HORSERACING FACT BOOK 2011/12

12 Oct 2012 Pre-2014 Releases

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) today published British Horseracing’s Fact Book 2011/12. The Book provides an invaluable and informative guide to the key statistics from across the Racing Industry, together with trends for the last five years.

The Fact Book can be found online at stage.britishhorseracing.com/fact-book/.

Paul Roy, Chairman of the BHA, said:

“We hope that the Fact Book serves the dual purpose of being not only a valuable Industry resource, but also as an illustration of both the strengths and challenges facing British Racing.

“The Fact Book highlights that British Racing continues to stage some of the world’s finest racing, with many of the world’s best racehorses either being bred, trained or racing on these shores, while attendances at British racecourses continue to go from strength to record strength.

“Never is this more apparent than in the context of a sold-out QIPCO British Champions Day, which promises to attract yet again the world’s finest equine stars to our new showcase end of season finale.

“However, at the same time many of our underlying indicators have slipped back significantly from recent peaks. The BHA and all within Racing are committed to addressing these issues and providing the sport with a firmer financial footing. This includes the forging of new partnerships both within the sport and with our core customers, including the Betting Industry.”
