Joint press release
The British Horseracing Authority, together with Godolphin and Racing TV, are pleased to announce that the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards will be broadcast live and free-to-air for the first time in 2021 on Racing TV.
Due to COVID-19 the awards ceremony is due to take place ‘virtually’ on Monday 22 February 2021. The support of Racing TV via a dedicated awards show on that evening will provide an exciting new platform to allow the finalists and those connected to them to be involved from the surroundings of their yard or stud.
Additionally, it will mean awards can be brought directly to a wider audience than ever before and mean that everyone involved in the racing and breeding industries can celebrate the achievements of the winners and finalists from their own homes.
Further details will be announced in due course, but the show will likely involve interviews with the finalists and winners, as well as those involved in the awards and judging process and other industry figures. There will also be a chance for those watching on from home to get involved via social media.
There is still time to nominate for the 2021 awards to be in with a chance of having your yard and stud showcased on Racing TV via the awards show, but those wishing to do so need to be quick.
Nominations for the 2021 awards close on Tuesday 10 November, and can be made by visiting www.studandstablestaffawards.co.uk.
Lindsay Davidson, Deputy Director of Broadcast at Racing TV, said:
“These awards are without doubt the most meaningful on the horseracing calendar, and Racing TV has been delighted to support the event over the years with the filming of nominee videos, as well as being an event partner. We are therefore delighted to extend our involvement by ‘hosting’ the awards from the Racing TV studio. The format of the show is still being established but will include live link-ups to the nominees and, with it being free-to-air, we are looking forward to bringing the Awards to a new and even wider audience.”
Hugh Anderson, Managing Director (UK and Dubai) at Godolphin, said:
“It’s fantastic news that the 2021 Awards will be broadcast on Racing TV and we are very grateful to them. It will allow as many people as possible to celebrate the extraordinary dedication of our stud and stable staff from the comfort and safety of their own homes, and also mean we can bring the magic of the awards to more people than ever before.”
The Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards are now in their 17th year and are sponsored by Godolphin and run by the BHA, in association with the Racing Post and Racing TV.
