Following feedback from its Racecourse Inspectorate, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has given permission for Ayr’s Flat fixture on Tuesday 3 October  to be run on the Hurdles Course.

As a result, five races over six furlongs, seven furlongs and ten furlongs have been abandoned. Four new races over eight furlongs, nine furlongs and thirteen furlongs have been added. The new race programme can be seen below, new races are in italics:

It has been necessary to reduce the safety factor of the two retained races, at 14:55 and 17:05, to 14. Entries for these races have already closed.

The four new races will close at noon on Thursday, 28 September with declarations closing at 10am on Sunday, 1 October. An update on Ayr’s 12 October fixture will follow in due course.

The BHA is awaiting the report from the Ayr racecourse executive regarding the events surrounding the abandonment of the Gold Cup meeting. The process of reviewing this report will be carried out in private, but any findings which it is felt are necessary in the public interest to be communicated more widely will be issued by the BHA in due course.
