Additional Jump fixture at Kelso on Sunday 11 March

05 Mar 2018 BHA Features Racing/Fixtures

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today announced that an additional Jump fixture will take place at Kelso on the afternoon of Sunday 11 March following the abandonment of their meeting on Saturday 3 March due to the cold weather.

The seven race card will feature the rescheduled runnings of the totescoop6 Premier Kelso Novices’ Hurdle (Class 1) (Grade 2) and the totepool.com Premier Chase (Class 1) (Listed), originally due to be run on Saturday 4 March.

Entries for all seven races will close tomorrow, Tuesday 6 March at 12 noon with declarations as normal on Friday 9 March.

Full race programme details will be available via the racing admin site, www2.racingadmin.co.uk.

Paul Johnson, Head of Racing at the BHA, said:

“With Scotland and the far north of England suffering disproportionately from abandonments this season, we have taken the unusual step of adding in an additional third Sunday fixture onto 11th March in order to ensure that the race programme continues to cater for horses which may have missed recent engagements due to the poor weather.

“With the help of Kelso and the Levy Board we are pleased to also have been able to take the opportunity to reschedule the two feature races from the original card and expect them to offer a Sunday highlight this week.”
