Amateur Rider’s Permit Withdrawn

The Licensing Committee of the Jockey Club today withdrew the Amateur Rider’s Permit issued to Mr Angel Jacobs. The Licensing Committee took this decision following recent enquiries made by the Jockey Club’s Licensing Department and the Amateur Jockeys’ Association, and after Mr Jacobs was interviewed by a Jockey Club Investigating Officer yesterday.

The Secretary to the Disciplinary Committee has lodged an objection to Gymcrack Flyer, the winner of The Bollinger Champagne Challenge Series Handicap at Beverley on 13th August 1998, which was ridden by Mr Jacobs.

The situation regarding other races in which Mr Jacobs has ridden and any breaches of the Rules of Racing committed by Mr Jacobs with regard to his application for an amateur rider’s permit will be dealt with in due course.
