On 31st May 2012 the British Horseracing Authority Appeal Board (Bruce Blair QC, Mr Christopher Hodgson and Mr Alastair Macdonald-Buchanan) heard appeals:

(1) by George Prodromou against the penalty of 8 years’ disqualification imposed by the Disciplinary Panel on 23rd February 2012 in respect of their finding to the effect that he had failed to give to Charlotte Kerton, the rider of the horse TIMETEAM (IRE) in the Golf at Lingfield Claiming Stakes run at Lingfield Park on 22nd January 2010, such instructions as were necessary for the horse to run on its merits; and

(2) by Alexander Starret against the finding made by the said Disciplinary Panel to the effect that he placed lay bets on TIMETEAM (IRE) not to win or be placed in the said race using inside information which he had received directly from George Prodromou.

Both appeals were dismissed.
