BHB is grateful to betfair.com, Kempton Park Racecourse and the Horserace Betting Levy Board who have indicated that they will generously contribute to the funding of the transferred race, should this be necessary. The race, which would also receive a contribution from BHB, would continue to be run with a Total Prize Fund of £40,000.

Julian Thick, Manager of Kempton Park Racecourse, said: “I hope that the contingency plan will not need to come into operation, but am very pleased that we have it.

“As well as Betfair, BHB and the Levy Board, I would like to thank the Racing Post and Coral, who are sponsoring races at Kempton Park on Saturday. They have given their support to the possibility of the transfer of the betfair.com Rendlesham Hurdle, and without that it could not have happened.”
