The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today confirmed that the two Steeple Chases scheduled to take place at Leicester’s fixture on Thursday 2 December 2021 have been abandoned.

With little appreciable rain in the track’s forecast, which would be needed to ease the going on the Chase course, a decision has been taken to ensure the safest possible meeting for all participants.

The two abandoned chases will be replaced by a Class 5 Novices’ Handicap Hurdle over two miles, forming a six-race card, for which entries will close at noon on Friday, 26 November.
