BHA LAUNCHES REDESIGNED JOB BOARD ON CAREERSINRACING.COM

10 Dec 2012 Pre-2014 Releases

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is today pleased to launch a newly updated and redesigned industry job board, available via www.careersinracing.com.

Originally created in 2006 to promote the variety of job roles available in Racing, the job board regularly advertises a diverse range of roles at all levels.

Free for racing employers to use, new functionality allows employers to upload a profile page and company logo alongside their job opportunities. In addition, more thorough search facilities for candidates make it easier to find jobs based on key words or location, with the option to receive alerts by email when an appropriate job is posted. With their own ‘account dashboard’ candidates can also now save CVs and upload covering letters.

The job board has grown in popularity each year since the 2006 launch; there are now over 600 registered employers, and on average 5000 registered candidates with typically 25 new jobs posted each month.

Sara Hay-Jahans, Head of Industry Recruitment and Training for the BHA, said:

“We are delighted to launch our redesigned job board. With its additional functionality, it continues to grow in popularity and is now widely used by many of the industry’s top employers. For candidates, it continues to be the only place to search for jobs purely in Racing and shows the diverse range of opportunities available in the industry.”

Aimee Hockley-Righton, Racing Secretary for Marco Botti Racing, said:

“The job board is very easy to use. It only took a few seconds to upload our vacancy and we found two members of staff – it was definitely worth the short amount of time it took.”

Sadie Evans, speaking on behalf of the Racehorse Owners Association (ROA), said:

“We had a very good response to a job advertised on the board, with a very high standard of candidates who had an interest in Racing. We put a shortlist together from applicants and subsequently employed applicants from the site. It worked perfectly!”
