Home Office Parliamentary Under-Secretary Mike ?_x0019_Brien MP will make the closing address at the British Horseracing Boar?_x0019_s Annual General Meeting on Thursday (15th June), following speeches by the Chairman and Chief Executive of the BHB, Peter Savill and Tristram Ricketts.

In his presentation, the BHB Chairman will focus on the Plan for the Future Funding of Racing, which Government asked BHB to prepare following the Home Secretary’s announcement in March 2000 of the decision to abolish the Levy Board.

His speech will follow a presentation by the BHB’s Chief Executive, Tristram Ricketts, who will review the Board’s activities since the last AGM, many of which are highlighted in the BHB Annual Report, which is published that day.

The AGM will be attended by Directors and senior executives of the BHB; delegates from member organisations of the Industry Committee (Horseracing) Limited; representatives from other organisations including the Jockey Club, the Horserace Betting Levy Board, the Tote, the Betting Office Licensees Association, the National Association of Bookmakers, the British Betting Office Association, members of the All Party Parliamentary Racing Group, the Home Office, Customs & Excise and the media.

The AGM takes place at One Great George Street, London SW1. The full text of the speeches by the BHB Chairman and Chief Executive will be available after the meeting, along with copies of the Annual Report.
