careersinracing launch digital career map as part of National Career Week and National Apprenticeship Week

06 Mar 2018 BHA Features Education/Training Grassroots

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) announced today that careersinracing – the website which promotes job opportunities in British horseracing – has launched a digital careers map to help guide those interested in working in and developing a career in racing.

The launch coincides with careersinracing’s sponsorship of National Career Week and National Apprenticeship Week, taking place 5 – 9 March.

The service, which is accessible via careersinracing.com/careermap, aims to give those interested in working in racing a simple, easy to use and helpful guide to the options open to them in the different parts of the industry, which directly employees over 18,000 full-time-equivalent roles.

As well as detailing the various parts of the industry, the map gives an overview of roles, the level of job availability, as well as the various training options available.  The website is already an extensive resource of case studies and information about roles, training and qualifications, alongside its popular job board.

Zoe Elliott, Careers Marketing & Recruitment Manager at the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), said:

“This new resource provides a convenient, easy to use and helpful introduction to the wide variety of jobs available within racing, in a simple and quick to view format.
“When we talk with Careers Advisors and Teachers they are often surprised by the range of jobs available in our industry.  It is really important to show educators the breadth of opportunity.

“We also hope that those already working in racing will take the opportunity to explore what their next role might be and how to achieve that next step in their career.

“Career choices at any stage can be confusing but we hope that the map will spark interest in the range of roles available in racing and we are always on hand by phone or any of our social media accounts to offer guidance and information.”
