CARLISLE 6F START CURRENTLY UNRACEABLE

20 May 2013 Pre-2014 Releases

Following drainage work carried out in the six furlong chute at Carlisle earlier in the year, the cold spring has caused slow recovery of the turf. Hence, the Clerk of the Course at Carlisle, in conjunction with the British Horseracing Authority’s (BHA) Racecourse Inspectorate, has decided to abandon the six furlong races programmed on Monday, 27th May and Monday, 3rd June.

The abandoned races are as follows:

27th May: 12825 The Madness Live on 5th July Handicap Stakes (Class 5)
3rd June: 13061 The Watch Racing UK on Sky 432 Handicap Stakes (Class 4)

Two additional races have been programmed. On 27th May, a handicap for four year olds and upwards rated 56-70, over about seven furlongs has been added. On 3rd June, a handicap for four yrs old and upwards rated 61-80, over five furlongs has been programmed. Both races will close according to the usual schedule.

Full race conditions can be found under Fixtures and Races on the BHA’s Racing Admin website.
