CHAMPION JOCKEY PAUL HANAGAN TO PRESENT GODOLPHIN STUD AND STABLE STAFF AWARDS

As nominations roll in for The Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards 2012, the British Horseracing Authority has today confirmed that twice Champion Flat Jockey, Paul Hanagan will present the awards.

After a fiercely fought battle to retain his title for the second consecutive year, Hanagan will be heading south to present the deserving winners with their prizes at The Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel on Monday 27th February.

Hanagan, who knows only too well the amount of hard work and dedication required to succeed in the industry, said of his role:

“Everyone involved in racing knows just how important Stud and Stable Staff are to making the sport a success, and yet, they are often the unsung heroes of the game.

“These members of staff will be the first ones in a on a morning and the last to go at home at night, and display the utmost commitment every single day of the year to ensure we can all enjoy the sport we love.

“These Awards mean so much to those nominated and go a long way to giving Stud and Stable Staff the recognition they deserve. I feel truly honoured to be involved, and look forward to presenting the prizes to these exceptional individuals.”

“Having recently been crowned Champion Jockey for the second year running, we feel Paul is the perfect person to present the awards. Having witnessed first-hand the unwavering enthusiasm and dedication of Stud and Stable Staff across the country in his quest to retain the title, he was the natural choice to make this experience extra special for those members of staff who usually remain out of the spotlight.”

Each of the finalists will be guaranteed at least £2,000 in prize money, plus an additional £2,000 for their Yard or Stud, in recognition of their achievement in reaching the finalist stage.

Category winners will each receive £5,000, with yet again that figure matched to be distributed amongst the Yard or Stud.

Finally the winner of the prestigious title of ‘Employee of the Year’ receives a further £15,000, with £10,000 to be distributed to the Yard or Stud.
