IAN ROY APPOINTED BHB HEAD OF LICENSING

16 May 2002 Pre-2014 Releases

Following the introduction of licence arrangements for the use of BH?_x0019_s data, Ian Roy has been appointed as BH?_x0019_s first Head of Licensing.

His key responsibilities will include the administration of and ensuring compliance with BHB data licences, as well as the collection of monies due. This has particular importance at this time with regard to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, as income from BHB licences in Ireland is incremental to levy income and accrues directly to BHB. An announcement will be made shortly in relation to a planned BHB Licence office in Dublin.

BHB Managing Director, Commercial Nigel Smith said today:

“I am pleased that we have been able to attract someone of Ian’s experience and seniority. This is a pivotal position in our new commercial relationship with bookmakers, as Ian will play a key role in the development of customer relationships as well as licence compliance. His initial focus will be to secure BHB’s income from non-levy paying territories and the creation of robust data sources ready for the transition of the Levy Board’s responsibilities to BHB when in due course the levy is phased out.”
