Julian Richmond-watson Takes Over As Senior Steward

From Tuesday 1st July, Julian Richmond-Watson takes over as Senior Steward from Christopher Spence. As Senior Steward, he chairs the Regulatory Board.

Julian was elected to the Jockey Club in 1993 and has been a Steward since June 2000. He most recently served as Chairman of BHB’s Race Planning Committee, of which he was a member since 1996. He has been a Jockey Club-nominated Director of BHB since 2000.

He has served as a racecourse steward at Newmarket, Nottingham and Warwick, and was a director of United Racecourses. He was previously Chairman of Epsom Race Committee and Nottingham Racecourse.

Julian has owned horses for thirty years, and breeds horses from the Lawn Stud in Northamptonshire. He currently has several horses in training with James Fanshawe, Amanda Perrett and Ralph Beckett.
