LINGFIELD PARK MAY 11TH AND 12TH TRANSFERRED TO ALL WEATHER

08 May 2012 Pre-2014 Releases

Following recent heavy rain, the turf course at Lingfield Park is currently waterlogged in places. With further heavy rain forecast, the Clerk of the Course, in conjunction with the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has abandoned racing on the turf course and the BHA Inspectorate and Racintg Department have sanctioned the transfer of the affected races to the All Weather.

For Friday, May 11th, there is not sufficient time to re-open the races and, therefore, the original entries will stand and declarations to run must be made by 10am on Wednesday, May 9th. Where applicable, revised ratings, weights and elimination sequences will be issued to reflect any differential between Turf and All Weather ratings.

For races on Saturday, May 12th, all original entries will be cancelled and entries for all races on this day will close at noon on Wednesday, May 9th and declarations to run to be made by 10am on Thursday, May 10th.

Clerk of the Course, Neil Mackenzie Ross said, “With parts of the track now un-raceable after further rain at the weekend and heavy rain forecast for Wednesday there is no prospect of improvement. By transferring to the All Weather we can be confident of staging racing on Friday and Saturday and provide connections with the opportunity to run their horses.”
