Police Investigation Continues

The Metropolitan Police investigation into allegations of race fixing is continuing. The Metropolitan Police have, however, informed the Jockey Club that Leighton Aspell, a licensed jockey, is no longer required to assist the police and has been released from bail.
The Jockey Club understands that the six other people arrested in connection with the police enquiries have been re-bailed.
In light of the fact that Leighton Aspell is no longer part of the police investigation the Jockey Club does not anticipate taking any further action against him.
Christopher Foster, the Jockey Club’s Executive Director said: “As this is a police matter, the Jockey Club is unable to comment further, except to say that we will continue to assist the police in their investigations as required.”
