08 Jun 2004 Pre-2014 Releases

Following a presentation at today’s BHB Board meeting by Lord Donoughue, Chairman of the Stable and Stud Staff Commission, whose report had been published earlier in the day, BHB Chairman Peter Savill said:

“The Board is very grateful to Lord Donoughue and all the members of the Commission for the considerable time and effort they have committed and for producing such a wide-ranging report.

“The Commission has identified a number of areas where action is required to ensure that the Racing and Breeding industries attract, train and retain sufficient skilled staff to meet their needs.

“The Board is supportive of the broad conclusions of the Commission and has today approved the Commission’s important recommendation that a small Working Group of industry and independent representatives be established immediately to consider and, as appropriate, implement its recommendations.”
