Supreme Silence (IRE), Lingfield Park, 11th October 2000, The Telegraph Group Plc Maiden Handicap Stakes
The Stewards of the Jockey Club considered the report of the enquiry into the running of the winner, SUPREME SILENCE (IRE), ridden by Jimmy Fortune and trained by Peter Harris, as compared to the colt`s previous runs in which he had never been placed.
At the enquiry on the racecourse, Mr A Blower, representing the trainer had said that SUPREME SILENCE (IRE) had benefitted from the step up in trip and racing on an all-weather surface for the first time.
Having viewed video recordings of the colt`s previous runs, the Stewards decided not to refer the case to the Disciplinary Committee.
COTTONWOOL KID, Taunton, 11th October 2000, The Cavendish Technology Handicap Hurdle Race
The Stewards of the Jockey Club considered the report of the enquiry into the running of the winner, THE COTTONWOOL KID, ridden by Carl Llewellyn and trained by Mrs Merrita Jones, as compared to the gelding`s previous runs in which it had never been placed over hurdles.
At the enquiry on the racecourse, Mr Louis Jones, representing the trainer had said that he had no explanation for the apparent improvement in form shown by THE COTTONWOOL KID.
Having viewed video recordings of the gelding`s previous runs, the Stewards decided not to refer the case to the Disciplinary Committee.
EVIYRN (IRE), Plumpton, 16th October 2000, The Shaun Donoghue Memorial Trophy (A Novices` Handicap Hurdle Race)
The Stewards of the Jockey Club considered the report of the enquiry into the running of the winner, EVIYRN (IRE), ridden by Adrian Maguire and trained by John Jenkins, as compared to the gelding`s previous runs in which it had never been placed over hurdles.
At the enquiry on the racecourse, the trainer had said that EVIYRN (IRE) had benefitted from the drop in trip and different tactics on this occasion.
Having viewed video recordings of the gelding`s previous runs, the Stewards decided not to refer the case to the Disciplinary Committee.
LEATHERBACK (IRE), Pontefract, 16th October 2000, The Feathers Hotel Nursery Handicap Stakes
The Stewards of the Jockey Club considered the report of the enquiry into the running of the winner, LEATHERBACK (IRE) ridden by Tyrone Williams and trained by Neville Callaghan, as compared to the gelding`s previous runs in which it had never been placed.
At the enquiry on the racecourse, the trainer had said that he had no explanation for the apparent improvement in form shown by LEATHERBACK (IRE), other than that the gelding had benefitted from the heavy ground on this occasion.
