Mr M Hamill

The Disciplinary Panel of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) held an enquiry on 27th June 2013 to consider an objection to SIZING AMERICA (IRE), owned by The Good, The Bad & The Handsome Friends, the winner of the Dodson & Horrell PPORA Club Members Novice Riders Championship Final at the North West Point-to-Point Club Meeting on 19th May 2013, on the grounds that the rider, Mr M Hamill, was not qualified to ride in the race in accordance with the conditions of the race.

Having considered the evidence, the Panel noted that Mr Hamill was not qualified to ride SIZING AMERICA (USA) in the race in that he had not ridden a horse placed in the first three in a Dodson & Horrell Novice Riders Qualifier, nor ridden a horse placed first or second in any other Point-to-Point race with Novice Riders’ Conditions during the current season. The Panel therefore disqualified SIZING AMERICA (IRE), placing BLEUVITO (IRE) first, NGONG HILLS (FR) second and GLIDEWELL third.

Encore Un Fois

The Disciplinary Panel of the BHA held an enquiry on 27th June 2013 into a report that ENCORE UN FOIS, trained by Henry Hogarth, had been unruly causing a false start and then refused to race in the Racing UK Live on Sky Channel 432 Handicap Hurdle Race at Wetherby on 30th May 2013. The matter was referred to the Authority by the Wetherby Stewards following their enquiry of the same day because the gelding had also been unruly on two previous occasions at Sedgefield on 2nd May 2013 and Uttoxeter on 18th July 2012.

Having considered the evidence, including a written statement from Hogarth, the Panel declared that with immediate effect no further entries would be accepted for Steeple Chases and Hurdle Races.
