From Wednesday 24 June, all flat races will return to 48-hour declarations. This means that declarations to run on 24 June must be made by 10am on Monday 22 June.
All Jump fixtures will also use 48-hour declarations when the season begins on Wednesday 1 July, with declarations for the meeting at Southwell to be made by 29 June.
We recognise that the use of 72hr declarations has created additional challenges for all participants, and want to thank you again for your flexibility in adjusting to these new requirements.
This change is only possible due to the support of trainers and other raceday attendees in supplying accurate and timely information to support the new and revised safety and infection control protocols, including the medical screening.
We ask that you continue to support this effort as we return to 48hr declarations, so that the system can work smoothly and efficiently.
As explained previously, all incomplete or incorrect information needs to be rectified, which can result in significant delays – both prior to raceday and at the racecourse screening checkpoints.
Trainers will continue to be asked to supply additional information after declarations have closed, including the Online Transport and Declaration Form, as specified in the BHA’s COVID-19 guidelines and operating procedures for racing behind closed doors (see Section C).
