RUNNING AND RIDING OF BEKSTAR TO BE SUBJECT OF A DISCIPLINARY PANEL ENQUIRY

The Stewards of the Jockey Club have considered the report of the enquiry regarding the improvement in form by BEKSTAR, the 7/2 winner of the RHT 40th Anniversary Handicap Hurdle at Wincanton on 7th October 2004, trained by John Tuck and ridden by Seamus Durack, as compared to the mare’s previous runs.

The improvement in form was referred under Instruction H19 (b), whereby following a marked improvement in form, the previous runs of a horse are reviewed by the Jockey Club, in conjunction with any explanation given for the improvement by connections on the day of the race at the Stewards’ enquiry.

Having examined the evidence, the running and riding of BEKSTAR at Fontwell on 21st September, when ridden by Seamus Durack and sent off at 20/1, has been referred to the Disciplinary Panel.

This enquiry will take place on 25th November.
