Racing and Breeding’s recruitment, training and retention strategy will be strengthened with the appointment of Sara Hay-Jahans as Head of Industry Recruitment and Training, reporting directly to Chief Executive Greg Nichols.

In conjunction and consultation with industry organisations, Sara will devise and implement a recruitment and retention strategy for the sport and will work closely with the Steering Group, chaired by Baroness Mallalieu, which was set up following the report of the Stable and Stud Staff Commission last year.

Greg Nichols said: “I am extremely pleased to welcome Sara, who is a highly experienced Human Resources professional. Her specialist knowledge will add a valuable perspective to the issues that the sport has identified as essential to address in order that Racing can achieve its ambitions to grow and develop further.”

Sara, 39, will join BHB on 1st June after five years as a Learning Solutions Manager with pharmaceutical firm Pfizer. She previously held a number of positions in ten years with CSC Computer Sciences.
