“It is extremely sad news to learn of Toby Balding’s passing.

“Toby made a remarkable contribution to every facet of the racing industry, from his many notable successes under both codes during his long and distinguished training career, to his nurturing of outstanding jockey talent and his unerring commitment to improving the racing industry through his roles on behalf of the NTF, ROA and as a Board member of the BHA from its inception in 2007 to 2010. One would be hard pressed to find a kinder, fairer, more loyal gentleman.

“His loss will be sorely felt across the racing industry, but he will also be very fondly remembered by all who knew him.

“The thoughts of everyone at BHA are with the Balding family at this time.”
