VICTOR CHANDLER CHASE RE-ROUTED TO KEMPTON PARK

The British Horseracing Board is pleased to announce that, with the support and assistance of Victor Chandler Ltd, the Horserace Betting Levy Board, the Executives of Ascot and Kempton Park Racecourses, the BBC and Channel Four, it has made arrangements to transfer the Victor Chandler Chase (Handicap Steeple Chase) from Ascot’s abandoned Friday programme to the Kempton Park card on Saturday, January 23rd. The race retains its Grade 2 status, but will now carry £30,000 in added to stakes prize money.
This important steeple chase, run over 2 miles, will now take place at 2.35 pm within a slightly revised order of running for Kempton Park, which will also result in the transfer of the Twickenham Novices’ Steeple Chase to 12.30 pm. The full order of running at Kempton Park on Saturday will therefore be:-
12.30 The Twickenham Novices’ Steeple Chase (Class D)
1.00 The Middlesex Novices’ Hurdle Race (Class D)
1.30 The Sunbury Novices’ Steeple Chase (Class D)
2.05 The Shepperton Handicap Hurdle Race (Class C) C4
2.35 The Victor Chandler Chase (Handicap Steeple Chase (Class A) (Grade 2) C4
3.10 The Tote Lanzarote Hurdle Race (Showcase Handicap) (Class B) C4
3.40 The Fulwell Handicap Steeple Chase (Class B) C4
4.15 The Weatherbys ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ Open National Hunt Flat Race (Standard-Class H)
